Adam Panfil moved to Northbrook when he was 6 and has lived here for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Natasha, each raised two sons here, so together they have four boys.
Adam has spent 30 years building and running businesses. He founded a medical waste disposal company and grew it from a single truck to 10,000 customers. Today he is CEO of Health Vax, which provides vaccines to nursing home residents, and Chief Operating Officer of Local MD, a group of 10 urgent care clinics, 7 in Illinois and 3 in Indiana. He and Natasha have also run an e-commerce business together for nearly a decade. Early in his career, he worked in commercial real estate and development, and also consulted in construction, where he became well versed in reading and understanding construction plans.
Adam reads financial statements every day and knows the math behind real estate development deals, which will help as the village works through downtown redevelopment. He also mentors students in the Glenbrook North business incubator program.
As a trustee, Adam will listen first, look at the facts, and make the call that is best for Northbrook over the long run.
In April 2026 I had the honor of being appointed as Trustee to the Village of Northbrook. I pursued the appointment to gain first-hand experience before entering the election cycle. Since joining the Board, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of the Village's strengths and challenges. I've come to appreciate our outstanding municipal employees as well as Northbrook's unique strengths in water independence, modern policing and climate action. I'm proud to have helped shape Northbrook's first-ever strategic plan and continue to advocate for better communication and accountability.
I recognize the challenges of rising property taxes, economic development and transparent governance. Addressing these challenges requires sound financial planning, measurable goals and a long-term vision that protects residents while sustaining services that make Northbrook an exemplary place to live.
Before focusing on my family, I built a career in public health through academic research and nonprofit entities. My expertise in program evaluation, community needs assessment and stakeholder engagement informs my approach to collaborative, data-driven decision-making.
Community service has always been central to my life. I served for three years as the President of the District 28 music booster and currently serve as the VP of Programming for the District 28 PTO Council. In 2024, I joined District 28’s facilities workgroup and later chaired the successful District 28 Bond Referendum.
For five years, I've organized Do Good Day through Gratitude Generation, bringing 200 volunteers together each Christmas Day to support five local area nonprofits. Volunteering with my husband and four children brings me great joy.
Moving to Northbrook to raise our family has been one of the best choices we've ever made as parents. I've seen first-hand the genuine connections among our neighbors and the shared commitment to our community. As Trustee, I want to help preserve what is special while embracing thoughtful progress, responsible planning and open communication to ensure Northbrook thrives for generations to come.
I believe strong communities are built when people say yes to opportunities to serve. I'm committed to continuing that work for Northbrook.
Jim and his wife have lived in Northbrook for 28 years. They reside in District 30 and raised two children who attended Wescott, Maple and GBN. As their kids were growing up, Jim was very involved coaching them in various youth sports and enjoying parent/child camping programs sponsored by the Northbrook YMCA.
Jim believes in community involvement. Shortly after moving to Northbrook, Jim successfully advocated before the Northbrook Safety Commission to have sidewalks installed in his neighborhood after seeing children walking in the street to get to school. He met with neighbors to gain support for the project and, today, families walk their kids safely to school.
Jim is an attorney with more than 35 years of experience in private practice as well various positions as corporate litigation counsel. Jim currently serves as an arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program and does freelance legal work, focusing on litigation and dispute resolution issues. Before becoming an attorney, Jim was a Senate intern in Springfield where he worked on appropriation bills and agency budgets.
Jim has always been interested in government and public service, and is running for the Village Board of Trustees so he can give back to Northbrook. He believes in open and honest government that works for the people, and not for special interests. Jim will listen to all sides of an issue and make a determination based on what is best for Northbrook.
Jim uses common sense when problem solving. He is authentic, experienced and confident. Jim's straight-forward approach is to tell people what he believes they should know – based on facts – rather than what they might want to hear. Jim is always open to discuss the thoughts and concerns of Northbrook residents.
